Uncle Charles
Charles Koranteng is well known in the gospel music industry. He has a passion for African gospel music (Afro Gospel) and its development. He is involved in producing and promoting music in that genre. He founded the Africa Gospel Music & Media Awards, an annual event. The awards celebrate gospel music of African origin. Charles runs 1615 Media, a Christian media and events company. Charles is a member of the WOAMM board of advisers. WOAMM stands for Women of African Origin in Music Ministry. It is an organization that serves as a support system for women of African origin in music ministry. He presented a Christian chat show on Faith TV which promoted the work of established and up-and-coming gospel singers and also produces content for radio and TV. Contrary to what you might think, Charles’ taste in music is very eclectic and he loves listening to jazz (all the better if fused with African gospel music) in his spare time and when stuck in traffic.
Additionally, he is a university lecturer who loves cooking in his spare time and supports Arsenal FC. Additionally, he has presented on ABN Radio and Prayz In Radio, and currently on UGN Jamz, Premier Gospel, and Gtracks. Moreover, he received an award for Industry Development at the Step FWD Awards held at Fairfield Hall, London in 2023.
