Approaching its anniversary in October. Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica on 28 October 2025 as a Category 5 storm, causing catastrophic damage and creating urgent humanitarian needs, including shelter, food, clean water, medical assistance, and longterm recovery support. As the one-year anniversary of the disaster approaches, many families, communities, and young people continue to face significant challenges. Jamaica, The Land We Love, has been recorded with the hope of turning music into a lifeline for those still affected by the hurricane’s devastating impact.  “Like many of us, I felt a deep responsibility to do something meaningful by bringing our Gospel and Christian communities together in support of those affected by HurricaneMelissa,” said Lawrence Johnson. This is more than just music. It is a global call to action”. Gospel music has always been a voice for healing, and now it can also be a lifeline for those who need support most.” All proceeds from the single, together with public donations, will be directed through The Jarrett Foundation to help fund relief and recovery programmes in the areas of greatest need.

Members of the public can support the campaign by donating through The Jarrett
Foundation at The Jarrett Foundation or directly via the official JustGiving Campaign.

Every donation will help provide critical aid, recovery support, and renewed hope to
communities affected by Hurricane Melissa.
